The Mississippi Braves got two outstanding pitching performances Monday, but it was only good enough to get one win.

J.R. Graham, Ryne Harper and Shae Simmons combined on a one-hit shutout — Graham threw five innings of no-hit ball — to lead the M-Braves to a 4-0 win over Mobile in the first game of a doubleheader at Trustmark Park.

The teams played two seven-inning games.

Matt Lipka went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored for the M-Braves, who scored four runs in the sixth to break a scoreless tie.

Mobile’s only hit was a single by Mike Freeman with one out in the top of the sixth.

In game two of the doubleheader, Freeman went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs as Mobile earned the split with a 2-1 victory.

Freeman had two of Mobile’s three hits, all of which came off of Mississippi starter David Bromberg. Three relievers combined to throw 3 1/3 innings of no-hit ball, but the M-Braves only managed five hits of their own.
