Funeral services for Sammie Lee Jones will be held Saturday, April 12, 2014, at W.H. Jefferson Funeral at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Malcom May officiating.

Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday, April 11, 2014 from 5 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jones died Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home following a lengthy illness. She was 80.

She was retired from Anderson Tully Lumber Mill and was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Gracie Mitchell Albert; her husband, Dan C. Jones Sr.; a daughter, Martha J. Blue; brothers Isiah Albert, Luke Lee Albert, John Albert and Eugene Albert; and a sister, Artimease Albert.

She is survived by sons Dan C. Jones Jr.,  of Jackson, and John W. Jones, of Vicksburg; brothers Mack A. Albert and Tom Albert Jr., both of Vicksburg; daughters Lille R. Jones and Patricia Alberton, both of Vicksburg; sisters Queen E. Shaw, Betty J. Albert and Grace L. Albert, all of Vicksburg; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and others.
