Accused child molester free on bail

A Vicksburg man accused of molesting a teen was free on bail this morning.
Richard Hearn, 34, who lives on Mary Hearn Lane, was arrested at 11:35 a.m. Monday and charged with molestation, Vicksburg police Lt. Troy Kimble said.
Hearn is accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in March, Kimble said. The victim’s mother reported the assault on March 21, and Hearn was arrested after an investigation, Kimble said.
Hearn posted $25,000 bail and was released from the Warren County Jail.
Phones, TV, weed trimmer missing
Cellphones, lawn equipment and a television were missing this morning following four break-ins Monday in Vicksburg.
At 10 a.m., cellphones were reported missing from two vehicles at Wyatt’s Gym, 3520 Manor Drive, Vicksburg police Lt. Troy Kimble said.
Police were reviewing security footage this morning to see if a suspect could be identified, he said.
At 11:30 a.m. a 55-inch LG television valued at $2,300 was reported missing from a home in the 1900 block of Baldwin Ferry Road, he said.
At noon, a Ryobi weed trimmer valued at $150 and a 1.5-gallon air compressor valued at $200 were reported missing from the 2300 block of Hunt Street, he said.
Vacant apartment damaged in shooting
A bullet damaged a vacant apartment Monday on Mission 66
At 11:15 p.m. the apartment manager reported gunshots, and officers found a projectile in the floor of a vacant apartment, Vicksburg Police Lt. Troy Kimble said.
The bullet damaged a window, wall and light fixture in the apartment, Kimble said.
