Survivors include her beloved husband of 67 years, Hubert Stroud; sons, Robin (Cathy) and Randy (Gloria); sisters, Dorothy (John) Rundell, Betty (Ray) Evans, Joanne (Jimmy) Goodman, Glennie (Melvin) Oswell; and nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Stroud was a shining example of a godly and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She retired after 25 years of service at Marathon LeTourneau as secretary to the chaplain and an employee of Vicksburg Federal Credit Union.

To those whom she knew were in need of help and support, she always gave her love, encouragement and prayers. Miss Hazel, as friends and church members liked to call her, was a faithful partner to her husband, with whom she shared a ministry as worship leaders in a number of churches in the Vicksburg area.

The Strouds produced two albums of Christian music together, “The Last Mile” and “One More Mile.” Hazel and Hubert sang, “Our love is forever, and I hope we walk the last mile together.” Hand in hand, they stood together through the good times and the bad, happiness and sadness, sunshine and stormy weather. They never knew a love could be so strong; and if ever two people did, they walked the last mile together.

The family requests that memorials be made to Grace Baptist Church, 1729 Hankinson Road, Vicksburg, MS, where Hazel and Hubert spent their last years of ministry together.
