The severe weather that hit Mississippi on Monday — and the threat of more on the way today — has delayed the first round of the MHSAA softball playoffs.

Game 1 of the Class 1A series between St. Aloysius and Stringer was postponed until Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Bazinsky Park. Games 2 and 3 of the best-of-three series will be played as a doubleheader on Thursday at 4 p.m. at Stringer.

Game 1 of the Class 5A playoffs between Vicksburg and Germantown also was rained out. It has been rescheduled for Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Germantown, with Games 2 and 3 to be played as a doubleheader Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Bazinsky Park.
