Percy E. McInnis

Percy E. McInnis died Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at her residence. She was 84.

Born in Glen Allan, she was the daughter of the late Victor Flourney Erwin and Margaret Preston McNeily Erwin.

Mrs. McInnis was a graduate of Glen Allan High School, Glen Allan, All Saints College of Vicksburg, and received her bachelor’s degree from Delta State University.

She was employed by the Vicksburg Warren School District prior to her retirement and was active in several organizations including the book club.

Mrs. McInnis attended The Church of the Holy Trinity and St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Erwin Shutt and a brother, John Seymour Erwin.

She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Clifton J. McInnis Jr.; two daughters, Rachel B. McInnis Hardy (Mark) of Vicksburg and Mindy McInnis Giambrone (Joe) of Vicksburg; three sons, Clifton J. McInnis III (Johnnie) of Baldwyn, the Rev. Victor McInnis (Minnie) of Twentynine Palms, Calif., and Michael McInnis (Lesa) of Fort Worth, Texas; three grandchildren, Dorothy Elizabeth Burgos, David Peter McInnis and Ashtin Berkeley Giambrone; and one great-grandson, Levi McInnis.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Church of the Holy Trinity with the Rev. Beth Palmer, rector, and the Rev. Denny P. Allman, vicar, of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, officiating.

Visitation will be Friday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at McInnis Parish Hall, Church of the Holy Trinity, 900 South Street, Vicksburg. Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Riles Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Episcopal Relief and Development, Post Office Box 7058, Merrifield, VA 22116-7058 and to charities of choice.

Pallbearers will be the Rev. Victor McInnis, Michael McInnis, Mark Hardy, Joe Giambrone, David Peter McInnis and Mark Burgos.

The family would like to thank Camelia Hospice and Home Health and Dr. Laura Clement for their love and care of Mrs. McInnis.
