Sunday morning about 7 a.m. Warren County Sheriff’s Deputy Sgt. Jason Bailess stopped to assist a stranded motorist walking along Indiana Avenue with a gas can.
Bailess gave Tylon Tryvon Williams, 22, of Queen Street, a ride to a gas station and paid for his gas. Bailess then gave Williams a ride back to his car on Elmwood Street. Deputies were then dispatched to an auto burglary call within site of Williams’ blue Ford Taurus. Williams could not explain what he was doing in the Oak Park subdivision.
Bailess asked for permission to search the vehicle and found several items reported missing in eight auto burglaries. Williams was arrested and charged with eight counts of auto burglary and was in the Warren County Jail this morning being held with no bond.
Sgt. Sam Winchester partnered with the city of Vicksburg Police Department investigators to determine if Williams and others were involved in auto burglaries within the city.
Winchester continued to work with the city today to determine if Williams will face other charges.
