Robert E. “Stick Bobby” Johnson died Sunday, May 25, 2014, at G.V. “Sonny” Montgomery Veterans Medical Center in Jackson.  He was 62.

He was of the Baptist faith and was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of Rosa A. Temple High School, where he was in the marching band

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis Howard and Martha Reese Johnson Sr., and his brother, Dennis Howard Johnson Jr.

Survivors include three sons, Robert E. Grant of Pittsburgh, Marcus Johnson of Vicksburg, and Anthony Ray Carter of Yazoo City; two daughters, Chanel January of Woodbridge, Va., and Jennifer Jones of Vicksburg; three sisters, Jeanette McCoy, Clara Jones and Malinda Blackmore, all of Vicksburg; five grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Word of Faith Christian Center with the Rev. Troy Truly officiating.
