Willie Joe Johnson died Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. He was 60.

He was born Oct. 14, 1953, in Champaign, Ill., to the late Delmar Johnson Sr. and the late Nancy Bell Johnson. He attended school at Rolling Fork and later joined the U.S. Army. He was a member of Friendship M.B. Church, where he was a member of the choir. He was a former resident of Edwards.

Bedsides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Pearl Webster and Betty Johnson; and four brothers, Danny Webster, Larry Johnson, Bernard Webster and Quintin Webster.

Survivors include seven children, Phalecia Johnson Sanders, Willie Johnson, Roderick Johnson, Jeremy Johnson, Jocelyn Johnson, Kayla Johnson and Shaquita Taylor; four brothers, Delmar Johnson Jr., Robert Johnson, Ricky Johnson and Jeffery Johnson; eight sisters, Mary Ann Berry, Peggy Johnson, Patricia Webster, Jeanette Webster Bolton, Pamela Johnson, Gloria Johnson, Debra Johnson and Michelle Johnson; 13 grandchildren; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends, including the Mack family and John Rovell III.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Friendship MB Church in Edwards. Burial will be at Rose Hill MB Church Cemetery in Bolton under the direction of Willis and Sons Funeral Home of Jackson.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 7 pm. at the funeral home.
