Monta Odell Jones died at Promise Hospital, Thursday, May 29, 2014. She was 83.

Born and reared in Ozark, Ark., she had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1982, where she was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard M. Jones, and her son, Daniel Jones.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Johnson of Vicksburg; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service is 2 p.m. today, May 30, 2014, at Cedar Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service.
