Frances Young

Frances Young of Vicksburg died Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at her home. She was 83.

She was a member of the Mount Carmel M. B. Church and was a retired nurses aid.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Atkins and Louella Harden; husband John Henry Young Sr.; and brothers, Melvin Atkins and Elijah Atkins.

Survivors include her son John Henry Young Jr. of Vicksburg; three daughters, Dorothy Williams of Chicago, and Tina Marie Young-Hayward and Rosemary Young, both of Vicksburg; brother Johnnie Atkins of Chicago; three sisters, Gistina Tolliver of Vicksburg , and Willie Mae Drake and Lula Atkins, both of Chicago; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and nieces, nephews , cousins and others, including Betty Jean Tolliver and Joseph Tolliver of Vicksburg.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Mount Carmel M. B. Church with the Rev. James Edwards Jr. officiating. Burial will follow ate Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
