Richard Lewis Scott Sr. died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at River Region Medical Center. He was 76.

Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Scott and Daisy Mae Smith; his sons, Richard Scott Jr. and Chester Earl Scott; and six siblings.

Survivors include his wife, Imura Scott of Vicksburg; children, Richard Cooper, Tanya Cooper Kenney and Chandra Cooper, all of Vicksburg, Rachael Cooper of Chicago, Reva Cooper Curtis of Dallas, Tangie Cooper of St. Charles, Ill., JoAnn McClendon of Little Rock, Ark., and Michael Ray Scott of Houston, Texas; brother, Jordan Smith of Vicksburg; sisters, Mamie Scott of Las Vegas, Patricia Scott Cole of Hermanville, Linda Burnside of Vicksburg, and Lillian Limbrick-Webb of Fort Washington, Md.; 34 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at Christian Home Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert L. Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 1 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
