Ruth C. Johnson died Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, at her home on Scott Road. She was 92.

Ms. Johnson was a member of Christian Home No. 1 M.B. Church for many years, and later was a member of China Grove M.B. Church No. 2.

She worked as domestic help, as a waitress, and as cafeteria worker at Beechwood School, and in farming, gardening, and as caregiver.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; three brothers; and two nieces whom she helped to raise.

Survivors include nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and Matilda and Carol Stewart, Rosemary Barton, Eddie Williams Jr., Archie Williams, Albert Williams, Harold Stewart, and members of the Smith, Moody, Larry, Brown, Gaskin, and Williams families.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, at Seventh Day Adventist Church in Oak Park with Pastor Andrew Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Garden Cemetery under the direction of Robbins Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
