William Leon Jones died Tuesday Sept. 9, 2014, at Baptist Hospital in Oxford. He was 87.

Mr. Jones was born in Ripley and had lived in Oxford for the past five years. He loved traveling and deep sea fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Brian and Virginia Stubbs Jones; a brother, Lane Jones; and a sister, Erma Jean McNew.

Survivors include a daughter Lynda Kerr, of Cary; sons Harold Rhude of Hawaii and Ronald Rhude of Cabbott, Ark.; two sisters, Elenore Crawford of Holly Springs, and Sarah Lois Rowell of Olive Branch; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at a later date.
