Willie J. Chapin of Vicksburg died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014, at River Region Medical Center. He was 83.

Mr. Chapin served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and was retired from LeTourneau Co.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ben L. Chapin; his mother, Clara Brewer Chapin; a son, Willie C. Chapin; and grandson, Jesse Chapin.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce M. Chapin of Vicksburg; three sons, Billy W. Chapin, Joe Don Chapin, Randy D. Chapin, all of Vicksburg; two daughters, Terry Saldana Christian of Vicksburg; and Ramona A. Nelson of Quitman, Texas; 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Brumfield officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Scott Chapin, Kelly Chapin, Ben Chapin, Jody Chapin, David Saldana and Dusty Cook. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Ray Chapin and Jason Chapin.
