Warren Central has turned a hitters’ game into a pitcher’s paradise.

Megan Stewart held Pearl to six hits — and had two of her own at the plate — to lead Warren Central to a 9-1 victory over Pearl on Thursday.

It was the second straight game in which Stewart and the Lady Vikes allowed one run or fewer, following a 5-0 victory over Franklin County on Tuesday.

WC, meanwhile, had no such struggles at the plate. Stewart, Brooke Patterson, Katie Channell and Lawren Boolos all had two hits apiece, and the Lady Vikes scored in each of the six innings in which they batted.

Stewart went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Channell doubled and drove in a run, Boolos tripled and knocked in two runs, and Patterson doubled twice, scored a run and drove in another.

PCA 17, Veritas 0

Porters Chapel Academy made quick work of Veritas, scoring all of its runs in the first three innings en route to a run-rule shortened victory.

The Lady Eagles scored their 17 runs on 16 hits, and had 16 RBIs as a team. Raylee Barwick led the way by going 3-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs, and Savannah King was 2-for-3 with a triple and four RBIs. Karley Hinson also went 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs.

Anna Beth Miller had two hits, while Kaylee Hinson and Gracie Felker both drove in runs. Shelby Barwick delivered a single in the bottom of the third inning to bring in the last three runs of the game and finish it by the mercy rule.

Hannah Embry pitched a three-inning perfect game for the Lady Eagles (9-8, 4-1 District 4-A), who outscored Veritas 32-0 in two meetings this season. Embry struck out four and only needed 33 pitches to make it through.

PCA will host Clinton Christian Tuesday at 5 p.m., with the winner clinching the District 4-A championship.
