Great things are happening at Redwood

One of the great changes at Redwood is “The Leader in Me” program that is being implemented during this school year. “The Leader in Me” philosophy instills the idea that every child has importance and value. Dr. Stephen Covey’s book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, is the source of The Leader in Me philosophy, and the tool the teachers and I are using to impart these timeless principles. Principles such as “Being Proactive,” “Begin with the End in Mind,” and “Synergize” are concepts that every child needs to understand to become productive citizens. Some of the positive effects of these principles are how they energize the teachers, strengthens the community, and inspires families.
A standing tradition at Redwood is the annual Turkey Shoot and Fair. This is the 39th year of the Turkey Shoot, and we are looking forward to one of the biggest ever. The Redwood Parent Teacher Organization is sponsoring the event and it is set for Nov. 1, 2014. We are grateful to all the former teachers, administrators, and students who have committed to helping us make this a great event for the children and families of this great community. The motto of Redwood is “Building Tomorrow’s, Today.”
