Samuel Grigsby

HERMANVILLE — Samuel Grigsby died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 70.

Mr. Grigsby was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie Grigsby Sr. and Nancy Wilkins Grigsby; and two brothers, Joel Grigsby and T.J. Grigsby.

Survivors include two sons, Layfette Greer of Jackson and Isaac Anderson of Pattison; two daughters, Edna Curtis of Hermanville and Bobby Jean Herrington of Port Gibson; seven brothers, Henry Grigsby of Utica, Robert Grigsby, Eugene Grigsby, Andrew Grigsby and Norman Grigsby, all of Hermanville, Charles Grigsby of Marrero, La., and Jimmie Grigsby of Lorman; three sisters, Jamie Grigsby O’Neal, Emma Bell and Nora Turner, all of Hermanville; and grandchildren, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at Freeman Hall Baptist Church in Hermanville with the Rev. H.E. Banks officiating. Burial will follow at the Church Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Port Gibson.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home, and Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
