James Robert Hartley died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at his home. He was 90.

Born in Providence, R. I., he had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1960. Mr. Hartley was the son of the late John Hartley and Madeline Louise Hays Hartley.

He was a veteran of World War II retiring in the Navy with 30 years of service. He was a retired employee of the U. S. Rubber Reclaiming Plant in Vicksburg. Mr. Hartley was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by wife, Andra Burton Hartley, and other relatives, including Dorothy Parker.

He is survived by several family members including Bonnie Hardin and Leon Parker.

Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Dwight Sibley officiating.

Visitation will be at Riles Funeral Home from 1 p.m. until the service.

Pallbearers will be J. O. Smith III, Bendel White, Jessie Cassidy, David White, Ricky Martin and Sidney Parker.
