The Rev. Dr. Louis A. Hall Sr. will celebrate another milestone Sunday.
The congregation of Mount Ararat M.B. Church at Eagle Lake will honor hall for his 41 years of service there. In July, Hall was honored at Mount Heroden Baptist Church where he has been pastor for 40 years.
The program begins at 2:45 p.m. Sunday and the Rev. Dr. Leonard Walker, pastor of New Mount Elem M.B. church will be the guest speaker.
Dinner will be served during the event.
Hall said he felt the call to ministry when he was 15. Four years later, he began pastoring Mount Ararat before taking over the pulpit at Mount Heroden the next year.
Hall says he takes his pastoring philosophy from Psalms 3:5-6, which says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and learn not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
In addition to his service as a minster, Hall worked as a history teacher in the Vicksburg Warren School District for more than 30 years.
After 41, years of ministry, Hall has no plans of retiring.
In 2010 members of Mount Heroden filed a legal document with the Warren County Circuit Clerk’s office proclaiming Hall’s tenure there.
