Ole Miss, MSU players bring home SEC awards

Mississippi is the toast of college football at the moment, and the toast of the Southeastenr Conference as well. Three players from the Magnolia State earned the league’s player of the week awards on Monday.
Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott received the SEC Offensive Player of the Week award for the second time this season after leading the Bulldogs to a 38-23 win over then-No. 2 Auburn and the school’s first-ever No. 1 national ranking.
Prescott accounted for 367 yards of total offense and three touchdowns in the victory. He had his fourth game this season with at least 200 yards passing and 100 rushing.
Ole Miss defensive back Cody Prewitt got the SEC’s Defensive Player of the Week award for his performance in a 35-20 win over Texas A&M. Prewitt had seven tackles and a 75-yard interception return for a touchdown.
Ole Miss freshman defensive end Marquis Haynes had four tackles and two sacks in the win over Texas A&M and was named the SEC’s Defensive Lineman of the Week.
