Man held in slashing

A Vicksburg man accused of slashing another man with a knife was held without bail this morning.
Elijah Parker, 52, 1623 Jackson St., was arrested at 8:30 p.m. Saturday and charged with aggravated assault, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.
Parker is accused of slashing the man in the 1200 block of First North Street.
The man was taken to River Region Medical Center where he was treated and released.
Parker was set to appear in Vicksburg Municipal Court this morning for a bail hearing, but it is unlikely he will be able to get out of jail. He is also held for a Mississippi Department of Corrections warrant for probation violation, Williams said.
Woman held in check scheme
A Vicksburg woman accused of involvement in a counterfeit check scheme was held without bail this morning.
Jalisha Austin, 24, 129 Elizabeth Circle, was arrested at 10:30 a.m. Saturday and charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.
She surrendered at police headquarters on a warrant accusing her of conspiring to pass counterfeit checks, Williams said.
Austin was awaiting her initial court appearance this morning.
One held for domestic violence
A Vicksburg man accused of assaulting his girlfriend was held without bail this morning.
Keith Sanders, 33, 2230 Grove St., was arrested at his home at about 1 a.m. today and charged with domestic violence, third offense, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.
Sanders was held at police headquarters this morning awaiting his initial court appearance.
Trucks missing from hunting camp
Two trucks, tools and hunting equipment were missing following two thefts over the weekend in the far southern part of the county.
At 6:14 p.m. Friday, a 1997 Suzuki mini truck valued at $4,000, a Stihl pole saw valued at $400, a crossbow valued at $1,000 and rangefinder valued at $700, a chainsaw and air compressor valued at $50 were reported missing from a hunting camp in the 500 block of Allen Station Road, according to Warren County sheriff’s records.
At 11:40 a.m. Sunday, a gray 2002 Ford F-250 with Mississippi license plate KA8545 was reported stolen from the 2200 block of Allen Station Road, according to sheriff’s records.
Allen Station is the last road on the left before reaching the Big Black River on U.S. 61 South, Sheriff Martin Pace said. The road has also been known as Magnolia Hunting Camp Road and Togo Road and crosses through Warren and Claiborne counties before ending on Togo Island in Tensas Parish.
