Reader questions need for sports complex

There has been a lot of discussion about sport promotion and development by the erstwhile mayor and the current administration too but we still are on a stalemate.
The real question is whether a new sports complex is a pressing need for the city?
A city which suffers from bad roads (improper exit/entry radius and surfacing), bad school system (we cant do better than a D), a dying downtown (underutilized and unsafe at late hours), general urban blight (driving through the town isn’t a pretty sight anymore),disintegrated tourist system, how much are we willing to sacrifice for a sporty image?
Does building a singular complex really infuse physical awareness in the town’s population? After all how many people will benefit from that except a few construction professionals?
We need to put together a collective effort from the administration as well as concerned citizens to formulate a plan to revitalize these which would really uplift the city’s status and amenities.
