St. Al finishes eighth in cross country championship

RUNNING HARD: St. Aloysius cross country finished its season off by placing eighth in the 2014 MHSAA Cross Country Championships at Choctaw Trails in Jackson Saturday. The Flashes ended the competition with a total time of 1:42:16:10 and an average time of 20:27:22.

John F. Kennedy took home first place in the meet with a total time of 1:33:07:90.

Senior Luke Eckstein (pictured above) was the highest placing St. Al student in the boy’s 5K run with an average mile of 6:05.1. Eckstein finished 13th overall.

Fellow teammate Chandler Roesch took home 29th place with an average mile of 6:18.2, while junior Ian Ulmer finished 35th with an average mile of 6:23.3.
