Anderson “Bootie” Smith Jr.

LORMAN — Anderson “Bootie” Smith Jr. died Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, at Claiborne County Medical Center. He was 68.

Mr. Smith was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anderson “Pat” Smith Sr. and Nannie Gaines Smith.

Survivors include by two sons, Andrew McCalpin of Jackson and Joseph “A.C.” Smith of Washington, D.C.; four daughters, Yolanda Patten and Andrea Berry Burrell, both of Vicksburg, Alexis McLaurin and Azalia Smith, both of Baton Rouge, La.; five sisters, Emily Robinson and Georgia Smith, both of Lorman, Ellen Blackshear of Cleveland, Ohio, Ellen Gaines of Port Gibson and Juanita Thomas of Jackson; 11 grandchildren; one aunt; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Services will be noon Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014, at East Mount Olive M.B. Church in Redlick with the Rev. Tracy Collins officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home, and Sunday at the church from 11a.m. until the service.
