Marlene Jones

KEMPER COUNTY — Marlene Jones of Vicksburg died Saturday, November 8, 2014 at River Region Medical Center. She was 80.

Mrs. Jones was born Jan. 26, 1934, in Pachuta and made her home in Neshoba County most of her life. She had lived in Vicksburg for the past few years, and was a retired educator from the

Philadelphia Public Schools.

Mrs. Jones was a longtime member of Beacon Street Baptist Church and Southside United Methodist Church before moving to Vicksburg, where she was a member of Bovina Baptist Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 91 in Philadelphia.

Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Jackson of Macon; son, Mike Jones of Vicksburg; three grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Jones.

Services were 1 p.m. today, Nov. 11, 2014 at Tucker Cemetery in Kemper County with Eastern Star Rites.  McClain-Hays Funeral Home in Philadelphia has charge of arrangements.
