Lady Flashes, Lady Vikes earn shutouts

Haylee Prescott had two goals and an assist, and Mary Ranager and Sara McDaniel scored one goal apiece as St. Aloysius controlled the game from start to finish and beat Terry 4-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Prescott and Ranager scored in the first 19 minutes as the Lady Flashes (3-1) took an early lead and never looked back. Prescott added another goal early in the second half, and McDaniel scored off a corner kick by Shelby Bottin in the 60th minute.

Catherine Smith assisted on Prescott’s second goal.

“Before the game we talked about maintaining possession of the ball and not doing a lot of 1-v-1, and that’s how most of the game was played,” St. Al coach Don Rowland said.

The Lady Flashes will return to action Dec. 3 at Greenville-St. Joe.

 

(G) WC 3, Ridgeland 0

Macy Claire Joseph, Jessica Hurley and Addie Hale scored one goal apiece, and Brooke Patterson made six saves in goal as Warren Central (3-3) shut out Ridgeland (0-3).

 

(B) WC 5, Ridgeland 1

Sean Dixon and Nathan Madsen scored two goals apiece, and Warren Central (4-1-2) held Ridgeland scoreless until the final minute of the game to rebound from its first loss of the season.

Madsen scored both of his goals in the first half as the Vikings jumped out to a 3-0 lead at intermission.

Hank Holdiness scored WC’s fifth and final goal, off an assist from Braylen Greer with about seven minutes to go.
