ROLLING FORK — Services for Sophie Wigley Cain, 97, of Mobile, Ala., will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at Rolling Fork United Methodist Church in Rolling Fork with the Rev. Beth Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery in Rolling Fork under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home of Rolling Fork.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
Mrs. Cain died Dec. 2, 2014, in Mobile.
A native of Attala County, she was a longtime resident of Sharkey County.
She was a graduate of Holmes Junior College and a 1941 graduate of Mississippi State College for Women. She was retired after a 42-year career teaching in Mississippi public schools in McCool, Delta City, Cary and Rolling Fork.
She was a member of Cary Baptist Church in Cary.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henry A. Cain in 1997, and a nephew, Eugene Wigley.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynda Cain Blough of Mobile; granddaughter, Angela Wigley Hobart; great-grandchildren, Savannah, Mark Anne, Jace and Kaylie Beth, all of Starkville; a brother, Jesse D. Wigley of Huntsville, Ala.; and special family members, Frank and Donna Lynne Corban, James and Sarah Pilgrim and Jack and Jeanette Winstead.
Pallbearers will be Mark Hobart, Jace Hobart, Kasper Eriksen, Frank Corban, Gill Corban, Kevin Corban, Clark Carter and Carter Abney. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Dick Carter, Laurance Carter, Jerry Bodie, Eddie Touchberry, Walter Foster, Deanie Miller, Sammy Bonds, Ronnie Taylor, Drick Rodgers, Ryan Grayson, Jesse Peay, William Moore and Curtis Tircuit.
