Anna Sue Stevens, 76, received her heavenly wings on Dec. 27, 2014, at River Region Medical Center.

She was born March 22, 1938, in Glen Allen to Ruby Elenor and Horace Abney, and had lived in Vicksburg for many years. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Ruby Abney; her husband, Charles Stevens; a daughter, Phyllis Stevens; three brothers, James Abney, Sammy Abney and Larry Abney; and four sisters, Eula Mae Phelps, Barbara Greenland, Martha Stephens and Carolyn Roberts.

She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Stevens and son-in-law Owen McWhorter of Vicksburg; three granddaughters, Courtney Hart (Jason), Lauren Hynum (Tony) and Haley McWhorter (Randall) all of Vicksburg; one grandson, Lake McWhorter (Kaci) of Vicksburg; three brothers, Bobby Abney of Holly Springs, Tanner Abney of Yazoo City, and Van Abney of Vicksburg; two sisters, Elizabeth Baylot of Richland and Mary Jane Dotson of Utica; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Dean Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Redbone Cemetery in Warren County.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the hour of the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Tony Hynum, Dusty Ross, Jason Hart, Owen McWhorter, Randall Grey, Chris Abney, Mike Abney, Chuck Cage, Paul Baylot and Steve Spradlin. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Russell, Bo Hart and Niel Howard.
