WEST POINT –Fred Dreher Jr., died Dec. 26, 2014, at Dugan Memorial Home in West Point. He was 87.
Mr. Dreher was born Feb. 19, 1927, in Stuttgart, Ark., the son of the late Frederic Nicholas and Regina Anna Hageman Dreher Sr. He was a United States Navy veteran. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Columbus, and worked as a civilian chief budget officer for Columbus Air Force Base for 35 years.
He married Phyllis Jean Parks on May 31, 1947, in El Dorado, Ark.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Ray Dreher; great-grandson, Zayne Alexander Atkins; and a brother, John Lewis Dreher.
Survivors include three daughters, Debra Dreher Lancaster of West Point, Jean Dreher King of Oxford, and Paula Dreher Oakes of Vicksburg; one son, John David Dreher of West Point; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two nieces.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Benjamin Kratz officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Garden Cemetery in West Point under the direction of Calvert Funeral Home of West Point.
Visitation will be Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be David Dreher, Jonathan Smith, Robert Atkins, Earl Foreman, Craig Laine, Chuck Jones, Gene Boggess, and Bryan Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeremy Roberts and Neil Gong.
