One arrested in bar fight

A Vicksburg man accused of knocking another man unconscious during a December fight at a nightclub has surrendered to police.
Shannon Tillman, 28, 203 Linda Drive, surrendered Monday and was charged with aggravated assault, Vicksburg police Lt. Troy Kimble said.
Tillman is accused of knocking a 42-year-old man unconscious at LD’s Kitchen, 1111 Mulberry St. at about 2:30 a.m. Dec. 16, Kimble said. The man was taken to River Region Medical Center and later to University of Mississippi Medical Center where he was treated for a concussion and a broken nose, Kimble said.
Bail for Tillman was set at $30,000.
The Vicksburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen recently asked the state to set closing time at four city bars, including LD’s, at 2 a.m., citing safety concerns.
Man charged with domestic violence
A Vicksburg man accused of breaking the eye socket of his girlfriend was in jail Tuesday.
Kelvin Bell, 44, 659 Fort Hill Drive, was arrested Dec. 27 and charged with aggravated domestic violence, Vicksburg police Lt. Troy Kimble said.
Bell is accused of hitting his 51-year-old girlfriend in the face, causing bruising and a broken orbital socket, Kimble said.
The woman was taken to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson where she was treated for her fracture, Kimble said.
Bail for Bell was set at $75,000.
Man on wanted list caught at casino
A Jackson man recognized as one of Mississippi’s most wanted was nabbed at a Vicksburg casino Tuesday.
Richard Watson, 36, 6426 Northwood Place, Jackson, was arrested Tuesday on warrants for Vicksburg police and an outstanding warrant from Madison County for a controlled substance violation, Vicksburg police Lt. Troy Kimble said.
Watson was recognized by security guards at Ameristar Casino, 4116 Washington St., after he appeared on the Central Mississippi Crime Stoppers list of most wanted fugitives.
Watson was held without bail Wednesday morning awaiting return to Madison County to face the drug charge.
