Ellis Theodore Mulkey Sr.

Ellis Theodore Mulkey Sr. passed away on Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, at his home in Vicksburg. He was 80.
Born in Wisner, La. to Jeff Truly Mulkey and Rachel L. Brooks Mulkey on May 31, 1934, he had lived in Vicksburg for the past 21 years. He graduated from Wisner High School in 1952. He was a retired Assistant Fire Chief from the Baton Rouge Fire Department where he was employed for 32 years. He was also employed as a salesman for Atwood Chevrolet for 10 years. He was a member of Triumph Church of Vicksburg.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Clara Bell Martin, Annie Pearl Burch, and Dorothy Simmons; brothers, Grant Mulkey, Robert Mulkey, George Mulkey, Jeff Mulkey, Floyd Mulkey, Herbert Mulkey, Huey Mulkey, and John Mulkey.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Mulkey; sons, Ellis “Teddy” Mulkey, Jr. (Josie) and Randy Mulkey (Karen), both of Brusly, La.; daughter, Charlotte Mulkey Watts (Tim) of Walker, La.; stepson, Ben Logan, of Slidell, La.; brother, William Mulkey of Winnsboro, La.; sister, Mary V. Mulkey Smith of Angola, La.; special niece, Alexis Whitehead of Vicksburg; grandchildren, Marci Mulkey, Mason Mulkey, Preston Mulkey, Justin Mulkey, Brandon Reynolds, Dustin Reynolds, Christopher Teal, Thor Teal, Jordan Watts, and Dalton Stapf; and five great-grandchildren.
Services are 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2015 at Glenwood Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mike Fields officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation is 11 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Pallbearers will be Ben Logan, Erine Whitehead, Justin Mulkey, Teddy Mulkey, Randy Mulkey, and Dakota Stapf.
