Kathleen Wood Dement died Monday, Feb. 9, 2015, at Heritage House in Vicksburg.  She was 91.

She was born on Oct. 26, 1923, in Grenada County and had lived most of her life in Vicksburg. She taught elementary school for 32 years.  She was a member of The Church of the Holy Trinity.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel H. Wood and Arla D.Wood Swayze; her husbands, J.A. Conway Wood and James Dement; and her daughters, Sammie and Arla Montgomery.

She is survived by her nieces, Mary Bell Gibbs, Eve Taylor and Caroline Boyd; her nephew, Stewart Easterby; and her niece, Barbara Swayze and nephew, John Swayze.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015, at Glenwood Funeral Home.

A graveside service will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City at 1 p.m.
