Woman charged with bringing pills to jail

A Warren County woman accused of bringing drugs into jail was held without bail Thursday.
Rachel Valerie Redditt, 33, whose address could not be confirmed, was arrested Sunday on several misdemeanor charges, but deputies later found the controlled tranquilizer Xanax in her possessions, Pace said.
“There were numerous pills in the bottom of a cigarette pack that was in her purse,” Pace said.
Wednesday the pills were confirmed to be Xanax, and Redditt was charged with possession of a controlled substance in a correctional facility, he said.
Redditt did not have a prescription for the pills, Pace said.
Bail was set at $3,000 bail on the misdemeanor charges, but Redditt was held without bail on the drug charge, pace said.
One held for probation violation
A Tennessee man accused of violating probation was held without bail Thursday.
Roy Defrance Jr., 26, who gave an address in Nashville but is believed to have been living on North Washington Street, was charged Wednesday with probation violation, Vicksburg police Lt. Troy Kimble said.
Defrance was arrested Feb. 9 on a warrant for contempt of court, but a records check showed he was wanted by the Mississippi Department of Corrections for a violating probation for a September 2013 conviction for possession of a controlled substance, Kimble said.
Defrance was held without bail awaiting a probation hearing in circuit court.
Stolen truck found at casino
A truck reported stolen last month in Louisiana was recovered Wednesday at a Vicksburg casino.
A 2005 Chevrolet Silverado that had been reported stolen from Shreveport Jan. 30 was found Wednesday at Ameristar Casino, Vicksburg police Lt. Troy Kimble said.
The truck was determined to have been stolen after Ameristar security called investigator Curtis Judge about a vehicle that had been left on the property for several days, Kimble said.
The vehicle was taken by Vicksburg police and was released to Shreveport police Thursday.
