Leon Turner Jr. died Monday, Feb. 10, 2015 at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home of Rolling Fork following a lengthy illness. He was 60.
He was retired from Anderson Tully Lumber Mill and was a member of the St. Paul M.B. Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents Leon and Alberta Hunt Turner, Sr.; his daughter Tawanda Perkins; his brother Luther Turner; and sisters Shirley Turner and Bobbie Turner.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian Patterson of Vicksburg; five sons, Corey Patterson and Cordell Patterson both of Vicksburg, Derrick White of Jackson, Robert Williams, of Missouri, and Tavares Perkins, of Connecticut; three daughters, Jasmine Patterson of Arlington, Texas, Leonda Buchanan, of Vicksburg and Autumn Johnson of Memphis, Tenn.; five brothers, Melvin Turner of Sacramento, Calif., Eddie Turner of Pearl, James Turner of Frankfurt, Ohio, Charles Stamps and Marcus Parson both of Vicksburg; seven sisters, Patricia Clark and Sherri Turner-Sharp both of Sacramento, Calif., Ella Smith of Jackson, Lois Barnes-Perkins of Edwards, Frankie Jackson of Milwaukee, Wis. and Tameka Burks of Vicksburg; stepmother Velma Gibbs-Turner of Vicksburg; 23 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and others including members of the Robinson, Carson, Hunt and Gibbs families.
Services will be 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, at W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Rhaji White officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Utica.
