Services for Ethel M. Smith Hughes will 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, at the Kings Empowerment Center with the Rev. Willie White officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hughes died Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, at her home. She was 76, a homemaker, and member of the Greater Mount Lebanon M. B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin B. and Millie Felton Smith Sr.; husband, Jessie George Hughes; son, Kenneth E. Hughes; brother, Ervin  B. Smith Jr.; maternal grandfather, Artie Felton; and grandmother, Rosie Green.

Survivors include her four sons, Roosevelt Smith of Chicago and Freddie Smith, Keith G. Hughes, and Tyrone T. Hughes, all of Vicksburg; daughter, Lisa Dian Hughes, of Vicksburg; two brothers, Charles “Kid” Smith of Chicago and Henry “Buddy” Smith of Vicksburg; two sisters, Rosemary Smith of Vicksburg and Lady Mae Smith-Selheimer of Seattle; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
