Ronald Howard Tower

Ronald Howard Tower of Vicksburg, Mississippi passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015, at River Region Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was 74.

Mr. Tower was born June 22, 1940 in St. Louis. He was the son of the late Howard Brown Tower and Peggy Ethel Tower.

After high school graduation, Ron received his bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from the Rolla School of Mines in Rolla, Mo., and received his master of science degree in mechanical engineering from Xavier University. He also received a Construction Engineering degree from Arizona State University and held a professional engineering status.

Ron was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Vicksburg Classic Cruisers Car Club. He was known for his zest for living with many hobbies such as building model airplanes and boats and refinishing and restoring classic cars. He had a natural creative ability for wood working which he inherited from his father and grandfather.

He was known for his quick wit, great sense of humor and always helping others. After several years of moving and working as an engineer, he and his wife Libby decided to move closer to family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Libby Tower; a son, Kristofor Ronald Tower (Andrea Flores Tower) of Vicksburg; a daughter, Tracy Lynn Tower of Vicksburg; two grandchildren, Anastasia Marie Tower and Kamron Kristofor Tower; and other cousins, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah, La.

Visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.

Pallbearers will be Richard Engle, Tony Brooks, Joe Wooley, Pete Dionne, Roy Pigg and Bill Collins.  Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
