James Eiting Stevens

James Eiting Stevens died Thursday, March 5, 2015, at Promise Hospital. He was 87.
Born in Eden May 7, 1927, to Joel Stevens and Jimmie Long, he had lived in Vicksburg since 1960. He served in the Navy during World War II, and was retired from Vicksburg Chemical after 30 years of employment. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Stevens of Vicksburg; daughters, Sandra Plunkett of Byram and Marilyn Staires of Phoenix; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11a.m. Monday, March 9, 2015, at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Burch officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery. Under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.
The visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Pallbearers will be William Cook, Don Gould, Steve Cooper, Barry Beard, John Arnold, and Randall Tunnell. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Crow, Frank Dayton, Ted Porter, and the deacons of Trinity Baptist Church.
