UNION — Services for Sue Keene will be noon Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Milling Funeral Home Chapel of Union with burial at Union City Cemetery. The Rev. Michael Herrin will officiate.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home.

Martha Sue Barnes French Keene was born Dec. 4, 1924, to Ralph Barnes and Dora Ann Morgan of Calhoun County, and went to her heavenly home Monday, March 16, 2015.

She is survived by three daughters, Azalea and Gary Knight of Port Gibson, Pam Tilley of Kingston, Tenn., and Missy Thompson and husband Brian of New Buffalo, Mich.; six grandchildren, Michelle Burrell of Port Gibson, Reatha Tilley, Samantha and David Fisher of Kingston, Tenn., and Rodger, Morgan and Hunter Thompson of New Buffalo, Mich.; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Bryant Fisher; three step-great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

From a large family she leaves one sister, Jeanette Long of Vicksburg; and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and many friends.

Preceding her in death were her husbands, Grady Clifton French and Thomas Watson Keene; three brothers; two sisters; one son-in-law; and one grandson-in-law.

Sue will be remembered for her soft-spoken words and love of her family and dedication to her friends. Sue was a member and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church of Union. She worked at Irene’s shop as well as Kasdan’s, and retired from the City of Union.

She was a member of the Chamber of Commerce of Union, working on the Country Day festivals for many years. Sue also served as secretary/treasurer for the Union Riding Club for many years. She also worked at the shirt factory and was a hairdresser in her early years in Union.

In May of 2011, Sue moved to Vicksburg, where she made new friends and was closer to her family.
