Barney Todd McBroom

Barney Todd McBroom died Friday, March 20, 2015, at Merit Health River Region. He was 64. Born in Vicksburg he was the son of the late Robert Hall McBroom, Jr. and Helen Lois Martin McBroom.

Todd was a graduate of H.V. Cooper High School. He served in the Navy and later served in the Army. Todd retired in 2003 from the Vicksburg Police Department with 25 years of service with the rank of lieutenant. He worked with ERDC in security and firearms training for a number of years.

Todd was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. He was an avid outdoorsman with a love for all types of sports. Todd’s caring spirit and loving heart was his life’s foundation.

He was a member of the Baptist faith.

Todd leaves two daughters, Kristi M. Smith (Albert) of Roanoke, Texas, and Jennifer M. Kille (Tim) of Middleburg, Fla.; an unofficial adopted son, Joey Reynolds of Vicksburg; two granddaughters, Kennedy Smith and Graycie Kille; three grandsons, Austin Smith, Justin Smith, and Clayton Kille; one sister, Diana M. Moon of Port Gibson; a brother, Don McBroom (Melda) of Edwards; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dianne Rose McBroom.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Dwight Sibley and the Rev. Grant McElveen officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Riles Funeral Home Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association and the American Heart Association.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Butler, Hayden, Butler, Robert Jackson, Bill Jeffers, Jesse Young, Shayne Jones, Tom Caruthers, Austin Smith, Albert Smith, Jr. and Jeramie Young.

Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Vicksburg Police Department and the Warren County Sheriff’s Department.
