MORTON — Lewis Wayne Blackledge, 69, of Forest, formerly of Vicksburg, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at his residence.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Morton Memorial Gardens Cemetery, with Bro. Arnie Everett officiating. Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton has charge of arrangements.
Mr. Blackledge was born in Adams County Sept. 1, 1945. He served in the United States Army, and enjoyed working and riding motorcycles.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Edward Blackledge and Ethel Geufice Perkins Blackledge; brothers, Horace and James Isaac Blackledge; and stepdaughter, Renae Bruce.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Everett Blackledge of Forest; children, Veronica Thomas of Magnolia, Vincent Blackledge of Lafayette, Tenn., Angie Blackledge of McComb, Brooklynn Arthurs of Forest and Dawson Blackledge of Forest; stepchildren, Jamie Pevey of Vicksburg, Cindy Sink of Vicksburg, Ronald Pevey of Hammond, La., Signe Creason of Morton and Robert Alford of Morton; brother, Chuck Blackledge of St. Louis; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jamie Pevey, Dalton Veazey, Corey Gerber, Steven Mathis, Robert Pevey and John Allen Mathis. Honorary pallbearers will be Ike Blackledge, Eric Blackledge.
Memorials may be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society.
