Mrs. Amie Price Flagg died Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Merit Health River Region Hospital.  She was 85. Mrs. Flagg was born to the late Jasper Price and Emma Neal Price Sept. 21, 1929 in Copiah County.

She was a member of Belmont Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Mother Board. She was the oldest member of the church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Flagg was preceded in death by her children; Janie and James Flagg; step-mom, Marcella Price; four sisters, Sadie Price Chillis, Helen Price Cox, Ruby Price Gaston and Bertha L. Price Gibson; and one brother, Jasper Price, Jr.

Survivors include her husband, James Flagg Sr. of Edwards; three sons, James Flagg Jr. Johnny Flagg Sr. and Willie Flagg Sr., all of Vicksburg; six daughters, Alma Flagg Dixon, Ella Flagg-Dukes both of Chicago, Bettie Flagg, Gloria Flagg White, Ora Flagg and Caroline Flagg Andrews, all of Vicksburg; three sisters, Carrie Price Taylor and Cedella Price Williams both of Utica and Barbara Price Marshall of Aurora, Ill.; one brother, Rev. Simon Price of Greenville; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends including the Johnson, Neal, Price, Clark and Turner families.

Services will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Belmont M.B. Church, 4446 Charlie Brown Road, in Utica with Rev. Phillip Burks officiating. Burial will follow at Belmont MB Church cemetery under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. with family hour from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.
