Stanford Kidd Sims died Sunday, April 19, 2015, in Vicksburg. He was 22.

Mr. Sims was born on March 20, 1993, in Vicksburg to Pauline and Johnny Sims Jr. He was a member of Mount Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church.

He attended Warren Central High School and received his diploma from Southeastern High School.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Derrick Fitzgerald Sims; his maternal grandfather, Frank A. Gardner Sr.; his maternal great-grandfathers, Walter Warfield and Willie Gardner; his maternal grandmother, Coniell Carson Mace Warfield, his maternal great-grandmother, Josie B. Gardner; and paternal grandfather, Johnny Sims Sr.

Survivors include his parents; his sister, Jenophia Truitt of Vicksburg; four brothers, Derrick Gardner, Johnny Smith, Kenneth Sims Sr. and Korey Sims Sr., all of Vicksburg; maternal grandmother, Ethel Gardner; paternal grandmother, Ruth Sims; and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Greater Grove Street Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. John Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home, and Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service.
