Carolyn Davis

Carolyn Davis died Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Merit-Health River Region Medical Center. She was 79.

Born in Truman, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Ernest Qualls and Mattie Sue Glover Qualls. Mrs. Davis was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved flowers, flower gardening and hummingbirds. She was a former member of First Baptist Church of Byhalia, and a member of Bovina Baptist Church where she served in the nursery program of the church.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Bill Davis; three sons, Alton Ray Davis (Phan), Michael Davis (Jan) and James Davis (Missy); nine grandchildren, Cindy Zimmerman, Jacen Davis, Timothy Davis, Michael Davis Jr., Christian Davis, Garrett Davis, Sarah Davis, Lauren Davis and Cali Grace Davis; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters and one brother.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2015, at Bovina Baptist Church with Dr. Chas Rowland, pastor and the Rev. Kent Campbell, pastor of Woodlawn Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Riles Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Pallbearers will be Christian Davis, Garrett Davis, Michael Davis, Jr., James Kinnebrew, Jerry Stuart and Woodie Beach.
