A memorial service for Andrew Anthony Bucci Jr. will be Friday, May 22, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, with visitation starting at 10 a.m.

Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Bucci died Nov. 16, 2014, after a brief illness. He was 92. He had recently resettled in Vicksburg, his hometown, after spending most of his life in Washington, D.C., and Maryland, where he worked for the National Weather Service until his retirement.

He was a prominent visual artist and in recent years received lifetime achievement awards from the Mississippi Arts Commission and the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters. An exhibition of his work, “Andrew Bucci: Rediscovered,” will be presented at Belhaven University from May 26 to Aug. 29.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Christine Cavallo Bucci and Andrew Bucci Sr. of Vicksburg; and two brothers, Don Bucci Sr. of Vicksburg and Dr. Robert Bucci of Canyon Lake, Texas.

He is survived by two sisters-in-law, Margaret Salmon Bucci of Vicksburg and Joan Ahrendt Bucci of Canyon Lake; first cousin, Marie Pantoliano of Vicksburg; nieces, Laura Hardt of Hondo, Texas, Helen Schutz and Beth Reynolds of Houston, Texas, Carolyn Lindigrin and Chris Bucci of Vicksburg, and Margaret Bucci of Jackson; and nephews Don Bucci Jr. of Harrison, Tenn., Phillip Bucci of Vicksburg, Luke Bucci of Reno, Nev., Drew Bucci of Austin, Texas, Eric Bucci and Ben Bucci of Houston, and Zachary Bucci of Las Vegas.

Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
