NEWLY CROWNED: Miss Mississippi’s Outstanding Teen 2015 Grace Post waves after being crowned Saturday evening at City Auditorium.

Grace Post was crowned 2015’s Miss Mississippi’s Outstanding Teen at City Auditorium Saturday night.

“I am so overwhelmed and blessed,” Post said, shortly after being crowned. “This is my first year to compete, and I am just so excited.”

A student at Madison Central High School, Post performed a ballet en point to the Spanish Dance from the Nutcracker Suite for the talent portion of the competition.

Post will represent Mississippi at the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageant, which will be held in Orlando where a new winner will be crowned, August 1.

The top 10 contestants who were announced at the beginning of final night of competition, were Miss North Central Mississippi’s Outstanding Teen Megan Elise Warren, Miss Metro Jackson’s Outstanding Teen LaRhonda Mack, Miss Madison County’s Outstanding Teen Addison Crowder, Miss Meridian’s Outstanding Teen Annabella Sills, Miss Turtle Creek’s Outstanding Teen Brooklyn Mooney, Miss Central Mississippi’s Outstanding Teen Grace Post, Miss Deep South’s Outstanding Teen Holly Brand, Miss Dixie’s Outstanding Teen Liz Sprabery, Miss Southern Magnolia’s Outstanding Teen Sidney Kimble and Miss Hattiesburg’s Outstanding Teen Ryone Jamil Thompson.

Each of the 10 contestants competed in talent, lifestyle and fitness and eveningwear and an on-stage question.

Miss Turtle Creek’s Outstanding Teen Brooklyn Mooney was named first runner up.

Second runner up was Miss Hattiesburg’s Outstanding Teen Ryone Jamil Thompson; third runner up Miss Deep South’s Outstanding Teen Holly Brand; fourth runner up Miss Madison County’s Outstanding Teen Addison Crowder.

The is the 11th year the Miss Mississippi’s Outstanding Teen Pageant has been held and more than $155,000 was awarded and offered as in-kind scholarships and $14,850 in cash scholarships.

The Miss Mississippi Pageant, the sister pageant to the teen pageant, will be June 24–27 at the Vicksburg Convention Center, 1600 Mulberry St. Preliminary rounds will be held June 24–26. The top 10 contestants will be announced June 27 and the new Miss Mississippi will be crowned. Tickets are $125 for all four nights, $30 for June 24 and 25, $40 for June 26 and $50 for June 27. About Terri Cowart Frazier

Terri Frazier was born in Cleveland. Shortly afterward, the family moved to Vicksburg. She is a part-time reporter at The Vicksburg Post and is the editor of the Vicksburg Living Magazine, which has been awarded First Place by the Mississippi Press Association. She has also been the recipient of a First Place award in the MPA’s Better Newspaper Contest’s editorial division for the “Best Feature Story.”

Terri graduated from Warren Central High School and Mississippi State University where she received a bachelor’s degree in communications with an emphasis in public relations.

Prior to coming to work at The Post a little more than 10 years ago, she did some freelancing at the Jackson Free Press. But for most of her life, she enjoyed being a full-time stay at home mom.

Terri is a member of the Crawford Street United Methodist Church. She is a lifetime member of the Vicksburg Junior Auxiliary and is a past member of the Sampler Antique Club and Town and Country Garden Club. She is married to Dr. Walter Frazier.

“From staying informed with local governmental issues to hearing the stories of its people, a hometown newspaper is vital to a community. I have felt privileged to be part of a dedicated team at The Post throughout my tenure and hope that with theirs and with local support, I will be able to continue to grow and hone in on my skills as I help share the stories in Vicksburg. When asked what I like most about my job, my answer is always ‘the people.’
