As the month of July gets closer, the window to register to vote narrows. Voters have until July 3 to register to vote at the Warren County Circuit Clerk’s office. The office will remain open until 7 p.m. and applications can be received by email, mail or fax. Post offices are closed the Fourth of July, so mailed in or hand written applications should be delivered no later than July 3.
The Circuit Clerk’s office was going to be closed on the Fourth of July, but an Attorney General opinion sent to all circuit clerks from the Secretary of State’s office quickly changed that.
“We received something an opinion from the Attorney General’s office that we will have to be open on the Fourth of July from 8 a.m. until noon,” Warren County Circuit Clerk Jan Daigre said.
According to Daigre, that will not include the courthouse, as it will be closed on the Fourth of July as well.
The voter registration deadline at the circuit clerk’s office is the Fourth of July before noon. The circuit clerk’s office will remain open on July 3 from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. and mailed or hand-written applications will be accepted no later than July 3.
The deadline for the absentee ballet and permanently disabled voters is June 20, where the Circuit Clerk’s office must send absentee ballots for the first primary elections by mail, email, or fax.
