Ruthelea Hopkins Lowery of Vicksburg died Thursday, June 11, 2015, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. She was 65.

She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Nettie Hopkins of Vicksburg. Mrs. Lowery retired after a long career as a dedicated and outstanding nurse, and was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy LaJune Wiltcher.

Survivors include her husband, Roy Lowery Sr.; three sons, Roy Lowery Jr., Thomas Lowery and Brett Hilton; three daughters, Kristi Lowery Hilton, Missy Lowery and Andrea Lowery; and grandchildren, Chase Lowery, Kaiya Hilton and Nikki Lowery.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
