Mary Alice Hudson Greene

LOS ANGELES — Mary Alice Hudson Greene of Hawthorne, Calif., formerly of Vicksburg, died Wednesday June 10, 2015, at West Los Angeles Medical Center. She was 67.
She was the daughter of Mrs. Ruby Lee Hills of Vicksburg, the late Mr. Robert Hudson, and the late Mr. Robert B. Hills Sr.
Mary attended McIntyre School and Rosa A. Temple High School (Class of 1965) in Vicksburg and worked at Knapp’s Pastry and Home Laundry in Vicksburg. She moved to Los Angeles in 1968, and worked as a manager of several restaurants in the Los Angeles area.
She attended Traveler’s Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Vicksburg and St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church in San Bernardino, Calif.
Besides her fathers, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, the Rev. R. J. and Mrs. Martha Jointer; paternal grandparents, Mr. Joe and Susie Hills; two brothers, David Hills and Robert B. Hills Jr., and two sisters, Martha Ann Hills and Cynthia White; a son, Curtis Alexander; and a granddaughter, Breanna Alexander.
Besides her mother, survivors include two daughters, Debra Hudson of San Bernardino, Calif., and Michelle Alexander of Hawthorne, Calif.; three sons, Kenneth Hudson, Earnest Alexander Jr., and Darrell Alexander, all of Los Angeles; five brothers, Lawrence Jointer of Fort Washington, Md., Ruben Hills of Vicksburg, Carl Hills of Antioch, Calif., Alvin Jenkins and Gregory Hudson, both of Vicksburg; three sisters, Barbara Johnson of Jackson, Martha Fairley of Stockbridge, Ga., and Georgia Hudson of Atlanta; 28 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held June 18, 2015, in Los Angeles. House of Winston Mortuary Services had charge of arrangements.
