Dear editor,
It is always an honor for the Vicksburg Main Street Program to host the annual Miss Mississippi Parade.
It was held Monday, June 22 in downtown Vicksburg and it was truly a site to see as the talented young ladies glistened down Washington Street.
The parade would not be a success without convertibles, so we would like to give our sincerest thanks to all the car owners and drivers that took time out of their evening to help make the parade a success. It is always a pleasure having the Blair E. Batson children to come and be a part of the parade.
Of course let’s not forget about the talented Hinds Hi-Steppers cheerleaders that have joined us every year.
A huge thank you to David McDonald and the car dealerships George Carr, Blackburn Motor Company, and Cannon Toyota, and parade volunteers.
We would like to thank the Warren Central cheerleaders and the Miss Mississippi Corporation including the pageant office, Lisa Boleware, princes and princesses, contestants and their families & friends from all over Mississippi.
We want to recognize Warren County Board of Supervisors Bill Lauderdale and Richard George, Warren County Sheriff Department and the Vicksburg Police Department.
We appreciate everyone coming together as a community to help make the parade special for the contestants and the community.
Thank you Miss Mississippi, Jasmine Murray for representing our state well this year.
Kim Hopkins
